getcloser ("we", "our", "us") operates the Closer mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Account Information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if available). We use this to create and manage your account.
Session Data: We store conversation session data including your display name, invite codes, conversation history, vibe check ratings, text notes, and voice notes. This data is shared only between you and your connected partner.
Device Information: We may collect push notification tokens to deliver notifications you have opted into. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Closer app experience
- To connect you with your partner via invite codes
- To store your conversation history and notes
- To send push notifications you have enabled (e.g., daily questions, partner activity)
- To manage your subscription
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Google. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your conversation data is only visible to you and your connected partner within a session.
We use the following third-party services:
- Google — authentication, data storage, and cloud functions
- Apple/Google Sign-In — authentication
- Expo — push notifications
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you leave a session, your contributions to that session remain visible to your former partner. You may request full account deletion by contacting us.

- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings
7. Children's Privacy
Closer is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
