Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Closer mobile application ("App") operated by getcloser ("we", "our", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use Closer. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Account
You sign in using Google or Apple authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information including your display name.
3. Using the App
Closer is designed to facilitate meaningful conversations between couples. You agree to:
- Use the App only for its intended purpose
- Not use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person
- Not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or violates another person's rights
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the App's functionality
4. Content
You retain ownership of any content you create within the App (notes, voice notes, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you and your connected partner.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Closer offers optional paid subscriptions ("Closer Pro") that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's subscription settings
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies
- Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
6. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, conversation prompts, graphics, and code, is owned by getcloser and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.
8. Disclaimer
Closer is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The conversation prompts are for informational and entertainment purposes only and do not constitute professional relationship counseling or therapy. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on conversations facilitated by the App.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, getcloser shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
